Overview
Store Score (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a free shop audit tool for Etsy sellers. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the service, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
We keep data collection minimal by design. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond delivering the audit and operating the service.
What we collect
When you use Store Score, we may collect:
- Your Etsy shop URL, submitted by you to generate an audit.
- Your email address, if you enter it to unlock the full report.
- Basic analytics data — page views, referral source, browser type — collected via privacy-respecting analytics (no cross-site tracking).
- A consent preference cookie (
ea_cookie_consent) to remember whether you accepted or declined cookies.
We do not collect your Etsy login credentials, payment information, or any private shop data. The audit reads only the publicly visible information on your Etsy shop page.
How we use your data
- Shop URL: to run the audit and generate your report. Results are cached for up to 24 hours to avoid re-scraping Etsy on repeat requests.
- Email address: to send you the full audit report. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
- Analytics: to understand how the site is being used so we can improve it. Data is aggregated and not linked to individuals.
- Consent cookie: to avoid showing the cookie banner on repeat visits.
Cookies
We use one first-party cookie (ea_cookie_consent) to store your consent choice. No third-party tracking cookies are set unless you accept analytics.
If you decline cookies, the site remains fully functional. Your consent choice is stored in localStorage rather than a cookie in that case, so no server-side tracking occurs.
Data retention
- Audit results are cached for 24 hours, then deleted.
- Email addresses are retained for as long as necessary to deliver the report. You can request deletion at any time.
- Analytics data is aggregated and retained for up to 12 months.
Third parties
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. We may share data with:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g. server, database) under data processing agreements.
- Analytics providers, only if you consent to cookies, and only aggregated/anonymised data.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, or to ask questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@storescore.app.
We will respond to requests within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
